Changhua County Magistrate WEI, Ming Ku and Senior officials of the Changhua County Government welcomed the delegation. Magistrate Wei pointed out that the frequent interaction and strong friendship between Changhua and Gunma provides a solid foundation for future exchanges in tourism, agriculture, and education.

Magistrate Wei recalled Speaker Hoshino’s visit to the Changhua County government this February, making this his second visit this year. This clearly demonstrates the friendship and tourism industry exchanges between Changhua County Government and Gunma Prefectureare both founded on a strong partnership. Gunma Prefecture is situated in central Japan, with many scenic spots and hot springs. Changhua County is situated on a flat landscape and has recently opened Taiwan’s first hot spring on flat landscape. I hope that Changhua County and Gunma Prefecture can deepen bilateral tourism ties.

Magistrate Wei pointed out Changhua County is working towards its vision of “Green Culture, Intelligent Changhua”. Offshore wind fields and sunshine in Changhua offers significant advantages. Last year and early this year, a total of four foreign and two domestic corporations invested more than 1 trillion 470 billion TWD in offshore wind power facilities. The county government executive team hopes to transform sunlight and offshore wind into electricity, transforming Changhua into a regional powerhouse and create wealth for the county.

Gunma Prefecture Assembly Speaker Yutaka Hoshino expressed his pleasure at being able to visit Changhua County again in such a short time and hoped the friendship between Changhua County and Gunma Prefecture continues to prosper. Hot Springs in Gunma Prefectureranks number one in both quality and quantity, and are rich in historical and cultural elements. In fact the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) designated the “Tomioka Silk Mill and Related Sites” as a World Heritage site. I strongly recommend our friends in Taiwan to visit the site.
