Urban interchange between Changhua County and Nagano-ken – a pleasant meeting of two magistrates

The county government held a tea part at the lobby on Sept. 3 to welcome guests from Nagano-ken. Magistrate Cho Po-yuan led first-class directors of the bureaus and division to warmly welcome 15 visitors from Japan including Governor of Nagano-ken Jin Murai (same position as Magistrate. Both parties expected to promote the interchange between each other in culture, agriculture, education, economics, industries, tourism, and medical treatment, etc. Magistrate was looking forward to drive the progress and prosperity in Changhu through such interchange.
At the party, both parties mutually presented each other with handicrafts to be commemorated. Magistrate Cho invited visitors including Governor Jin Murai to taste the agricultural specialties in Changhua such as guavas and candy fruits, etc. It was the first time that Governor Jin Murai tasted fresh guavas and highly praised the guavas in Changhua having fresh, crispy and delicious.
Magistrate Cho pointed out “Let Changhua step out and the world walk in.” because of the visitors including Governor Jin Murai, he believed the friendship between Changhua County and Nagano-ken would be further enhanced. To start with, Governor Jin Murai would like to express his great concern about the victims survived from Morakot Typhoon through the interpreter.
Changhua County and Nagano-ken of Japan both established very good urban interchange in 2006. Magistrate Cho once led a group visiting Nagano-ken and former Governor and deputy Governor and Ministers of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce of Nagano-ken also paid their visit to Changhua, which showed a close interaction in between.
For the reason that friends from Japan would be able to learn more about the historic interests and relics of Changhua and the industrial development of mushrooms, besides the welcome tea party, today’s activity included the arrangement of their visit to Lukang Folklore Museum, Long-shan Temple and Q-Yo Bio-technology Farm at Pu-xin Village after the party. It was also the day of Chunayuan Festival to worship the dearly departed, they also paid a visit to Dizang (God of Earth) Temple at Lukang to experience diversified religious culture in Taiwan, which would be believed to give the visitors from Japan a profound and wonderful impression and memory on Changhua County.
