Mr. Gourangalal Das, Director General of the India Taipei Association, visited Changhua County Mayor
County Mayor Wang stated that Changhua is an important flower production area, accounts for more than one-third of Taiwan’s total production. In addition, Changhua is also the third major county for pig farming. Its egg production accounts for half of Taiwan’s output. Meanwhile, its great-quality fruits, including grapes, dragon fruit, guava, etc, have exported to other countries and have received favourable comments. She suggested India Government to open more markets for special agricultural products and introduce the high-quality products from Changhua, so that the Indian people can taste the delicious food from Changhua.
The number of tourists from India to Taiwan has increased year by year, and has exceeded 40,000 people per year in the past 3 years. It is obvious that the tourism markets of both sides have become increasingly active. We also expect to promote India in Taiwan, look for the opportunity to hold some related seminars in Changhua, and arrange events inviting Indian performance groups to perform in Changhua, hoping Taiwan people will know more about India through these efforts.
