To ring in the new year of 2024, the Changhua County Government will hold the “2023 Changhua Year-end Party” event at the parking lot next to Huxi Elementary School in Xihu Township before Christmas Eve on December 23rd. Its publicity press conference took place in the atrium of the county government hall this morning (12th). County Mayor Wang HuiMei and others invited people to come to Xihu Township to enjoy the wonderful moment via delicious food, great music, and brighten fireworks at the end of the year. In addition, there are many exciting events in December worth everyone to participate, including the "Christmas Lighting Ceremony" event at the square in front of the county government hall on December 15th, the "Garden Party" event on December 17th, and the highly anticipated "2024 Changhua Moonlight Lantern Festival" event, which will light up Mt. Bagua and Great Buddha on December 30th.  
 
“A year has gone by in a blink of an eye. In order to pray for blessing and thank the residents for their hard work throughout the year, the Year-end Party is specially held after the winter solstice to enable the residents to enjoy more performances and to celebrate the New Year’s Eve nearby in the countdown parties organized by some townships and cities in Changhua County,” County Mayor Wang said, “In addition, the year-end concert will be held in Xihu township and kicked off by Men Envy Children (小男孩樂團), which is popular with young people. After that, 8 groups of strength singers from younger, middle and older generations will take turns singing, including Stan Chen (陳孟賢), Steve Chow (周治平), babyMINT (薄荷水晶) from NEXT GIRLZ (未來少女), Amber Fang (方季惟), Huang Fei (黃妃), Bestards (理想混蛋), and Power Station (動力火車). Moreover, there will be food market, 480-seconds gorgeous fireworks show, and extra lucky draw activity. On the day of the year-end party, one is qualified to receive one lucky draw ticket upon collection of two uniform invoices of more than NT$200 each. In addition to the prizes provided by the county government such as gogoro electric motorcycles, 65-inch LCD TVs, Dyson vacuum cleaners and iPADs, Xihu Township Office increases its sponsorship of motorcycles, 55-inch TVs, washing machines, dryers and refrigerators, etc. Furthermore, Xihu Township Representative Council and Xihu Farmers’ Association also provide TVs, washing machines and other prizes. County Mayor Wang suggested everyone to come to Xihu in the daytime before the evening party to enjoy the delicious and nutritious mutton hot pot. Visitors can optionally ride a bicycle on the section between Xihu and Xizhou of the National Greenway of Sugar Railway, which is about 15.5 kilometers in length, to taste two kinds of mutton hot pot with different local flavors and enjoy attractions nearby such as Xihu Sugar Factory, Central Park, and former township office. Various local souvenirs are also available for visitors’ attention.
