To strengthen people’s English proficiency and enhance the nation’s overall competitiveness, the Changhua County Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with California State University San Marcos (CSUSM, 美國加州州立大學聖馬可斯分校) for cooperation agreement last year (2023), and the first substantive international exchange event is on the way this year (2024). County Mayor Wang HuiMei attended the flag presentation ceremony in the atrium of the county government hall this morning (4th), and presented the county flag and the group uniforms to the member of the first group. ”Thanks to the MOU signed by the County Government and the CSUSM on June 30th last year, the first substantive international educational exchange event will be officially launched through a winter overseas study camp this year. The camp is consisted of 20 teachers and students from 5 complete schools in the county (including Changhua Arts High School (彰化縣立藝術高中), Hemei Senior High School (和美高中), Chengkung High School (成功高中), Tianzhong High School (田中高中), and Erhlin High School (二林高中)), and is scheduled to visit the United States on January 25th for a 12-day experiential learning. Wish them a safe journey in the international educational exchange,” said County Mayor Wang. 
 
The county government team is very dedicated to making Changhua children more competitive. Special thanks to Dr. Kuo ChiaoWen, International Education Consultant of the Department of Education, for her acting as a go-between. This overseas study camp focuses on language and culture. In addition to English learning, students will visit the city government and chamber of commerce, exchange experiences with local high school students through collaborative learning, experience local life and culture in depth to enrich themselves, and contribute themselves through the international volunteer service. With this exchange experience, involved students are expected to expand their international horizons and to act as a teen diplomatic envoy to introduce the advantages of Changhua and Taiwan to international friends under the challenges of different languages and cultures.
