The Changhua County Government actively populizes sports and promotes local characteristics. The "2024 Changhua Marathon Carnival" included six consecutive events from the end of September to the end of November this year. Each event was embedded with local cultural elements, allowing runners to deeply experience the charm of Changhua while challenging their physical fitness. Today, the 4th event, 2024 Taiwan’s Rice Heaven TianZhong Marathon (2024台灣米倉田中馬拉松), kicked off in the Jin-Sung Cultural and Educational Park in TianZhong Township. Changhua County Mayor Wang Hui-Mei, Chang Hung-Chun, former chairman of the Shukang Lohas Sports Association (中華民國舒康樂活運動協會), Zheng Zong-Zheng, director-general of that association, and other guests fired the gun for the event, officially launching the race and igniting the flames of sports enthusiasm. County Mayor Wang expressed her gratitude to Zheng Zong-Zheng, director-general of the Shukang Lohas Sports Association for promoting marathon event for a long time. With the great support of people from all walks of life, the runners participating in the TianZhong Marathon has increased year by year. This year, more than 30,000 people registered to join the lot-drawing for TianZhong Marathon. Ultimately, over 16,000 runners took the place to participate in this most hospitable marathon event. Moreover, she also appreciated the organizers for mainly promoting the environmental protection and sustainability in the TianZhong Marathon event, hoping to transform the event into an environmentally friendly marathon that run for the land of Changhua. 　　 
 
To face the challenge of extreme climate, the TianZhong Marathon received the carbon label certification issued by the Ministry of Environment this year, becoming the first full marathon race in Taiwan to receive this honor. Decomposable paper cups, electronic version of completion certificates, and fully-electric timing cars and pace cars were used in this event. County Mayor Wang expressed her expectation of a collectively support on green action, and appreciated to Fubon Financial Holding Co., Ltd. for its benevolence and support on green action. Fubon Fianncial plants a tree for every participate for his/her every 40 kilometers completed in the virtual run. Participating in the TianZhong Marathon can not only improve health, but also contribute to environmental protection and sustainability.
