The “2025 Lukang Dragon Boat Festival Celebration Series – Dragon God Ceremony” event is a unique and vibrant folk ritual held annually before the dragon boat races. It serves as the grand opening for the Lukang Dragon Boat Festival Celebration Series. This year, the "2025 Lukang Dragon Boat Festival – Dragon God Ceremony" event and the dragon boat launching ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 (Lunar Calendar, April 6th). 
 
The “2025 Lukang Dragon Boat Festival – International Dragon Boat Race” is scheduled from May 30th to June 1st. Registration opens on March 3rd (next Monday) and runs through March 24th, so gather your teammates and sign up quickly to compete for the generous prize money! The Dragon God Ceremony, scheduled for May 3rd, serves as the grand opening event for the Lukang Dragon Boat Festival. Come Lukang to immerse in the distinctive folk rituals. 
 
Lukang boasts the only river in central Taiwan suitable for hosting large-scale dragon boat races, a tradition that has flourished for over 40 years. To ensure the success of the annual Dragon Boat Race for the Dragon Boat Festival, the grand Dragon God Ceremony is held prior to the competition. The Lukang Dragon Boat Festival is listed as one of the top ten major festivals in Taiwan and is the oldest and largest of its kind in Taiwan. This year's dragon boat races will be held from May 30th to June 1st, with registration open from March 3rd to March 24th. Come join us!
