To boost Lukang’s summer tourism, the Changhua County Government held the “2026 Lukang Small Town Light Festival – Kung Fu Dance Heroes Contest” at the plaza in front of the Lukang Assembly Hall on July 18. County Mayor Wang Hui-Mei and distinguished guests officially launched this grand dance event. A thousand participants sang and danced together to Kung Fu Fighting, instantly igniting the atmosphere in Lukang and making it one of Taiwan's most eye-catching summer highlights. The 2026 Lukang Small Town Light Festival will continue through August 23, illuminating the town every evening from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Visitors from across Taiwan are warmly invited to experience the spirit of kung fu and embark on a vibrant journey of light and art. County Mayor Wang stated that this year's festival marks Taiwan's first collaboration with DreamWorks' Kung Fu Panda, presenting a spectacular feast of light and shadow. Inspired by the beloved "Furious Five" heroes from the film, the organizers held the Kung Fu Dance Heroes Contest, attracting 20 dance troupes from across Taiwan to creatively incorporate kung fu movements into street dance and contemporary dance performances. In addition, the thousand-person performance of the classic theme song Kung Fu Fighting transformed the event into one of the summer's most spectacular visual highlights through the power of collective dance. The organizers also launched the Kung Fu Panda Stamp Rally – Protect Lukang Town campaign. By joining the official Changhua Travel LINE account and scanning QR codes at any two of the three designated locations (Old Lukang Stream, Osmanthus Alley Artist Village, and Lukang Assembly Hall) to collect digital stamps, participants will have the opportunity to enter a prize drawing featuring an iPhone 17 and many other prizes. Lukang is renowned for its historic landmarks, traditional craftsmanship, rich cultural heritage, and distinctive local cuisine. Filled with delicious food, engaging attractions, and countless photogenic locations, it is an ideal destination for visitors and social media enthusiasts alike. In addition to the Lukang Small Town Light Festival, this summer's coolest and most dynamic attraction is the 2026 Khanh An Water Park event, which runs through August 2. Every weekend, visitors can enjoy a variety of exciting interactive water facilities.
